Adam Voges is a former Australian cricketer and cricket coach. The right-handed batsman who played for the Australian national team was born on October 4, 1979. Voges has played 20 Test matches and 31 ODIs. In domestic cricket, he was the captain of Perth Scorchers. Voges is widely known for retiring with a batting average of 61.87 in Test matches which is second to former cricketer Don Bradman who is considered to be one of the greatest batsmen. Voges started his cricket career at a very young age. He had studied in the Western Australian Institute of Sport and had played for the Australian Under-19 team. In the Sheffield Shield held between 2002-2003, Voges made his first-class debut for Western Australia. Voges made his Test debut at the age of 35 in 2015 and scored a century against West Indies. For this, he won the Man of the Match award. He is known for setting a record for maximum runs between dismissals in Test cricket history. He had played only 20 matches in the Baggy Green. Voges announced his retirement from international cricket in February 2017. He announced his domestic cricket retirement in March 2017.
